EMDR Intensive Therapy in Toms River, NJ
Focused trauma therapy without all-day sessions
EMDR intensives offer a concentrated approach to trauma therapy by meeting for longer and more frequent sessions over a short period of time. Instead of weekly therapy stretched over months, this format allows for deeper processing while maintaining stability and nervous system regulation.
I offer EMDR intensives designed to fit real life — including parents, professionals, and clients who cannot commit to full-day sessions.
How my EMDR intensives are structured?
- 90–120 minute sessions
- 1–3 sessions per week
- Typically completed over 2–6 weeks
- Limited to one or two clearly defined treatment goals
This format allows us to:
- Maintain momentum in trauma processing
- Reduce the “start and stop” feeling of weekly therapy
- Work deeply while prioritizing safety and integration
- End each session grounded and regulated
For new clients
New clients begin with a thorough intake, preparation, and resourcing phase before any trauma reprocessing begins. We move at a pace that respects protective parts and ensures you feel supported throughout the process.
EMDR intensives may be a good fit if you:
- Feel stuck despite previous therapy
- Have a specific trauma or trigger you want to address
- Want focused treatment within a shorter time frame
- Are able to engage in follow-up care and integration
EMDR intensives may not be appropriate if you are currently experiencing active suicidality, severe unmanaged dissociation, or ongoing unsafe environments. These concerns can be discussed during a consultation.
A brief consultation is required to determine fit.
Fees & EMDR Therapy Options
I offer private-pay EMDR therapy in both standard session formats and intensive formats. This allows us to tailor the pace and structure of therapy to your needs, nervous system, and goals.
Standard EMDR Therapy
- 60-minute session: $175
Standard sessions are a good fit if you’d like to move at a gradual pace, build stabilization skills, or begin EMDR without committing to longer sessions. Many clients start here and later decide whether an intensive feels appropriate.
- Out-of-Network Billing Option (60-Minute Sessions Only)
Clients receiving standard 60-minute therapy sessions may choose to use out-of-network (OON) insurance benefits.
If you choose OON billing:
- You agree to pay your copayment, coinsurance, and/or deductible at the time of service.
- You authorize the therapist to accept out-of-network insurance reimbursement directly through assignment of benefits.
- Insurance reimbursement amounts are determined solely by your insurance plan and are not guaranteed.
EMDR Intensive Therapy
EMDR intensives are longer, focused sessions designed to support deeper trauma processing while prioritizing safety, regulation, and integration. Not every session involves trauma processing; preparation and integration are essential parts of EMDR work.
Individual Intensive Sessions:
- 90-minute session: $300
- 120-minute session: $400
Clients may schedule intensive sessions individually or choose a discounted series package.

These sessions are optional and scheduled as needed.
FAQ
What if I need more sessions than planned?
Additional sessions can be added as needed and are billed separately.
What if I feel overwhelmed?
You remain in control and can pause, slow, or stop at any time.
Will I process everything in these sessions?
EMDR intensives focus on prioritized targets. Follow-up sessions often support further integration.
Can I switch series length after starting?
Yes, series length may be adjusted based on clinical judgment and your needs.
Do I have to commit to a package?
No. Intensive sessions can be scheduled individually, or you may choose a series package if you prefer a structured plan.
Will all sessions involve trauma processing?
Not necessarily. Preparation, stabilization, and integration are essential parts of EMDR therapy and are included in all formats.
What if I purchase an intensive package and later need to slow the pace or move to 60-minute sessions?
If we decide together that a different pacing or session length would be more supportive, any unused portion of your intensive package will be converted to a credit. This credit can be applied toward standard 60-minute sessions or individual intensive sessions at the current private-pay rate. Package value is not forfeited, and structure can be adjusted to support safety and treatment goals. Package credits must be used within [6 or 12] months of purchase unless otherwise agreed upon.
