About Us
Shannon Esteves, MS, LPC, LCADC, ACS
Hi! My name is Shannon, and I have worked in the mental health field for over seven years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor in New Jersey. I am also a member of EMDRIA and hold my certification in EMDR therapy. My educational background includes a B.A. in psychology from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University.
I use one of the most effective therapies to treat trauma and related issues, called eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). We can move through memories and feelings safely and productively through this process and other therapies as needed. Many people who have completed EMDR say it changed their life.
Many of my clients are dealing with past abuse or other trauma, addiction issues, or fear and shame that overwhelm them. At some point, it becomes unbearable. I work with people who are determined to be free of symptoms and move forward. You may not be able to erase the past, but with the proper support, willingness, and effective therapy, you can retake control of your life.
I am confident that whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, or PTSD or want to understand your thoughts or behavior better, I can help. Together we will develop a plan to improve your life and meet your goals at your own pace in a safe environment.
